Iowans call out rising costs during Rep. Nunn and VP Vance’s visit

Yesterday, while Representative Zach Nunn and Vice President JD Vance were in Des Moines fundraising for Nunn’s campaign, Progress Iowa put out a mobile billboard truck calling out Nunn’s support of rising health care costs, gas prices and tariffs.

The mobile billboard reads:

Representative Zach Nunn can’t couch rising prices.

Tariffs, health and gas costs are ripping through Iowa pocketbooks.

Rep. Nunn has continuously voted for and supported tariffs that have squeezed Iowa farmers, caused large layoffs in Iowa’s manufacturing sector and left many families struggling to afford everyday needs.  He has also voiced that he wants to get rid of the Affordable Care Act entirely, and voted for the largest Medicaid cuts in history, causing several Iowa hospitals to cut services and multiple clinics in his district to close entirely.

Executive Director of Progress Iowa, Mazie Stilwell, said:

“Working families across the state are being hit with higher costs at the grocery store, soaring insurance premiums and gas prices over $4 a gallon – all while Nunn votes to protect tax breaks for the wealthiest and slash the programs that everyday people rely on. Now Nunn and Vance are here, fundraising at a manufacturing facility –  one of the hardest hit industries by their bad policies –  asking for support after selling out Iowans. There’s no clearer proof of who they really work for, and it isn’t the hardworking Iowans they are trying to rally support from.”
