Following recent Epstein Files concerns ignored by Congresswoman Ashley Hinson and State Rep. Shannon Lundgren’s recent actions to protect a child abuser over survivors, Progress Iowa Executive Director Mazie Stilwell released the following statement:

“Republicans are racking up a sickening report card when it comes to standing up for survivors of abuse,” said Stilwell. “There is no moral gray area here. Siding with victims should be the only response we see from elected officials, but Reps Hinson and Lundgren have failed their constituents miserably on this issue. Iowans deserve to see Rep. Lundgren resign, the Epstein Files released, and Rep. Hinson give back any donations tied to alleged abusers. Rep.Hinson should call for Rep. Lundgren’s immediate resignation.”

  • On a telephone town hall and at the State Fair Rep. Ashley Hinson was asked multiple times why she blocked a vote that would release all of the Epstein Files.
  • Hinson was also asked at the State Fair about donations she received from alleged domestic abuser Max Miller. Hinson did not respond to questions about Max Miller, and has also failed to answer whether or not she’ll give back more than $70,000 from a megadonor John Childs, accused of child sex trafficking.
  • Former Candidate for IA-02, Shannon Lundgren, was recently caught using State Capitol letterhead to advocate for a sexual abuse reoffender who will be listed on the sex offender list.
