Progress Iowa is thrilled to announce Mazie Stilwell will be joining our team as our new Executive Director, beginning April 1, 2025.
Stilwell brings a wealth of Iowa experience in advocacy, organizing, and development in progressive spaces and has a proven track record of coalition building and leading crucial resistance in the face of chaos.
Progress Iowa Board members, Melissa Peterson and Melissa Speed, are excited to welcome Stilwell to the team, stating, “Now more than ever, Progress Iowa is vital to providing resources for Iowans to mobilize and engage elected officials at all levels on an array of important issues. Mazie will be leading our tremendous team as we begin the next chapter of Progress Iowa. Her skills and vision will be an incredible asset to our organization.”
In her position as Executive Director, Stilwell will be responsible for managing the Progress Iowa team, collaborating with the Board and national affiliate, while continuing to curate and expand Progress Iowa as the premiere communications hub and infrastructure for progressive causes in Iowa.
“I’ve worked in partnership with Progress Iowa for the better part of a decade and know the critical role they play in shaping the future of our state,” said Stilwell. “I’m thrilled to join this accomplished team and have high hopes for what the future holds.”
