Remember: lead with a value, define the opposition, and end with a call to action.

Overview: One year ago, on June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court overturned the monumental 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that made access to abortion a constitutional right for all Americans.

The Headline: Iowans overwhelmingly support the right to access abortion but MAGA Gov. Reynolds and anti-abortion lawmakers in Iowa’s legislature are working to take away the rights of Iowans. We will continue to fight for our freedoms and against their effort to implement a total ban on abortion in Iowa.

The Message: Iowans are compassionate people who value the right to abortion and to make personal, private decisions without politicians interfering.

It’s been one year since anti-abortion extremists thought they could  steal our rights by overturning Roe v Wade. They were wrong. Recent Iowa court action is just one step in maintaining safe, legal access to abortion in Iowa. We will keep fighting for our freedoms and the rights of all Iowans to make their own personal decisions. Reynolds and other MAGA, anti-abortion Republicans in Iowa want to change both the courts and the constitution to take away our freedoms to decide what’s right for our families. Just as abortion rights activists stood up and won in Kansas and other states, Iowans will stand up for our rights.

As supporters of the right to access abortion, we are the majority and we are not going anywhere. It will take all of us in this fight to secure the freedom to be in charge of our bodies, and safely care for ourselves, our families, and our communities.

The Tweet: One year ago, Roe was overturned for MAGA Republicans like @IAGovernor to control our bodies. That’s why we must keep fighting for reproductive rights, to ensure politicians keep their hands off!  #Iowa
