Progress Iowa Executive Director Matt Sinovic issued the following statement in response to the strong federal jobs report released today, showing that 517,000 jobs were added in January, more than doubling the expected number while unemployment rates hit a 53-year low:
“There’s no disputing it: After two years of Democratic control in Congress and President Biden in the White House, more people are at work and we’re headed in the right direction.
“What we’re seeing now is the result of making working families the priority of our policy. Not corporations.
“Governor Reynolds and the Republican legislature should pay attention: this is what happens when you put people first.”
