Progress Iowa today released an online advertisement, ‘Scary’. The ad is a mock-infomercial selling Senator Joni Ernst Masks as the ‘scariest costume in Iowa’. The ad continues to describe the many extreme positions taken by Ernst, that will ‘spook’ and ‘frighten’ Iowans: privatizing Social Security, defunding Iowa schools, abolishing student loans and the minimum wage, and putting an end to the clean water act.

“Joni Ernst has been terrifying Iowans with her extreme positions, from privatizing Social Security to abolishing the federal minimum wage,” said Matt Sinovic, executive director of Progress Iowa. “Ernst’s right wing agenda has spooked seniors, students, and working families all across Iowa. A Joni Ernst mask, representing all of the fringe positions she has taken, would be a truly terrifying Halloween costume.”
