Website Provides Resource Available In English And Spanish For Voters Who Want To Cast Their Vote Early
A new resource for early voting was launched by Progress Iowa today, at IowaVotesEarly.com, providing Iowans who want to vote early an easy to use site where they can find the closest voting location. Iowans can vote in person at their county auditor’s office and at satellite voting locations, as well as by voting by mail with an absentee ballot. Information is provided in both English and Spanish, and the site will be updated as more early voting sites are confirmed.
It’s National Voter Registration Day (yay!) and with less than 50 days until Election Day, the clock is ticking.
It’s no secret that these midterm elections are going to be crucial in getting our country back on track and it’s going to take each and every one of us to win in November.

Progress Iowa today announced the cast of their Reynolds Pamphlet production, an adaption of Hamilton that will parody and pillory the administration of Governor Kim Reynolds in addition to local and national conservatives, along with vignettes from policy experts and organizational leaders.

Local and national organizations released the annual Iowa LGBTQ Media Guide today, to provide accurate information and encourage appropriate representation of the LGBTQ community in the media. An open letter to Members of Congress David Young, Rod Blum, and Steve King:
As veterans we took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, just as you did when you became Members of Congress. Our efforts to safeguard this country and provide support for our military demands that the wealthiest in our country pay their fair share in taxes. Your votes for tax giveaways to the wealthy and corporations undermines not only our long term ability to protect our country, it degrades the quality of life for every citizen by undercutting public schools and programs.
Progress Iowa will call on Iowans to rise up and not throw away their shot with a production of Reynolds Pamphlet, an adaption of Hamilton announced today and scheduled for two performances in late July, just after Hamilton’s run in Des Moines.
This week, Kim Reynolds tweeted out her support of Iowa teachers, and Iowans who remember what she and Branstad did to teachers were not having it.
Progress Iowa today released a new video highlighting the need to enact common sense gun laws in Iowa. The advertisement, entitled Lockdown, shows a text message conversation between a parent and student during an active shooter threat, and closes by calling people to action by texting SAFEIOWA to 30644. Progress Iowa consulted Iowa students while developing the ad, as well as pulling from real-life examples from school shootings.
